Insurgent legal praxis in Juan Ramón Capella: The role of the jurist in their own suppression and the Law that extinguishes itself

This is a review of the book "Sobre la extinción del derecho y la supresión de los juristas", in which Juan Ramón Capella (1939-2024) discusses the relation between Law (and jurists) and the socialist transition. In this reflection, the author sought to demonstrate the inadequacy and ideological nature of traditional legal training, in light of the profound social changes. On this basis, he proposed an interdisciplinary legal training that would make it possible to outline the contours of a new Law. His work remains relevant in the discussion about overcoming capitalism and the role of the jurist in the transition to a new order, approaching an insurgent legal praxis that enunciates a new type of Law, destined to extinguish itself.
