Modern proprietary culture and capitalist means land as a commodity and to be an effective merchandise must be empty. All that make the land permanently occupied, such as wildlife and nature, indigenous and traditional communities, are obstacles to the exercise of property rights and considered obstacles to free capitalist development.
In the same sense, in relation to urban land, the built cultural heritage has the same barrier to capitalist conception of commercialization of the value of land and beings and the creatures and resources presents in the context. The land has become a commodity in itself, with so much value much empty are. Therefore, forest peoples, the population who use the land according to their collective traditions, the living nature, plants and animals, and buildings protected as cultural heritage are considered barriers, obstacles to the free marketing of the land.
