In a variety of methodologies to approach the contents of the history curriculum in the classroom have gained prominence, in the last decades, ludic practices that teachers have launched in search of meaningful learning for the students. Among several types of ludic activities applied, it is important to take a look at the didactic potentialities of educational games as well as their limitations. History teachers working in basic education in various parts of Brazil have been betting on educational games as didactic tools, from those that do not require more specific resources up to games or gamified applications. Thus, the purpose of this paper is to propose a reflection on the relationship between ludicity and education in interface with the teaching of History.
