Dissolve to absorb Hyperstition as a discursive technology
Main Article Content
Abstract
This article proposes a critical analysis of the discourse that establishes Nick Land as an influential and relevant intellectual figure within segments of the neo-reactionary new right (NRx). It argues that the concept of hyperstition may be a key element in understanding the philosopher’s modus operandi, serving as a rhetorically useful discursive technology to render his political-philosophical positions ambiguous and obscure. Land’s theoretical constructs and recent statements demonstrate a continuity and logical cohesion, particularly in his self-positioning as a marginalized, (self)silenced intellectual who is ostensibly disinterested and apathetic, despite being a recognized recipient of symbolic capital within political and intellectual spheres.
