Taking the poetry of T.S. Eliot 'The Hollow Men' as a guide, I will try to reflect on the world that dies before us - and "not with an explosion but with a whimper" - and what happens or we believe that it happens in the meantime of this pandemic time. To do this, referring to some notions of Whitehead's and Merleau-Ponty’s ontology researchs, I will ask the coherent deformation of a certain style of inhabiting this world that is falling apart. This interrogation is intended to echo the Merleaupontian a-philosophy and the question about how “to make worlds with gestures”, as Bardet maintains when commenting on Haudricourt's perspective, within the framework of a discussion of the gestures by which our “unnatural image” of ourselves and of our world becomes an poetic expression of the paradoxical nature of the pandemic present.
