Em defesa das Flores do mal: as alegações do advogado de Baudelaire

Apresento aqui uma tradução das alegações finais da defesa de Charles Baudelaire na ocasião do processo movido contra As flores do mal, em 1857, feitas por Gustave Chaix D’Est-Ange, seu advogado. O texto é precedido por um comentário, no qual são apresentadas as circunstâncias do processo e as relações do discurso da defesa com a sustentação oral da acusação e com as notas de Baudelaire a seu advogado (ambas já traduzidas em português), além dos princípios que nortearam esta tradução.
