A TEACHING PROPOSAL ON STRENGTH AND MOVEMENT IN FUNDAMENTAL EDUCATION THROUGH SOCCER

Abstract

This article has as main objective to report the results of the application of a proposal to teach the contents of Force and Movement in the Science discipline in the ninth grade of elementary school. The methodology used was based on the Three Pedagogical Moments and football was used as a contextual theme. The research consisted of a qualitative investigation, supported by observations, audio recordings, questionnaires and interviews applied to students. The proposal was developed inspired by the Freirean ideals of a dialogical education, valuing the speeches and the students' evolution throughout the process, in order to enhance a critical and contextualized pedagogy of physical phenomena. In this sense, it was decided to initiate the proposal within a problematic attitude towards football, its social importance and the proximity between this sport and physics, to later carry out the organization and application of the acquired knowledge. Among the activities used there were presentation of videos about football, a class at a Society football field, as well as computer simulations. The results obtained revealed a significant contribution to the conceptual formation of the student, besides favoring the development of behavioral and attitudinal aspects. A comparison between a pre and post-test found an evolution in students' knowledge.
