Abstract

The use of chemosynthetic inputs in agriculture has caused risks to human, animal and environmental health. Therefore, it is necessary to rethink the model of agriculture practiced today with the intensive use of inputs with high environmental impact. Homeopathy has a promising potential for use in agriculture and livestock. This study aimed to select the homeopathic treatment and further evaluate its use in mitigating water stress in seeds of two black oat cultivars (Avena strigosa Schreb). The homeopatic treatment Calcarea carbonica was selected by homeopathic repertorization and used in the 7CH potency. The seeds were subjected to two tests: germination under four different levels of water stress, 0 MPa, -0.2 MPa, -0.4MPa and -0.8MPa and, electrical conductivity, with and without Calcarea carbonica application. The tests were evaluated for germination rate and electrical conductivity results. The best results of water stress mitigation in seeds cultivar IAPAR CABOCLA wereobtained with Calcarea carbonica for the germination test at stress levels by osmotic pressure of -0.2 and - 0.4 Mpa compared to treatment without the application of homeopathy .
