In order to support a better understanding of the current scenario of the crisis installed by the new coronavirus in the field, a result of descriptive exploratory research with 21 small rural producers on the Coast of Paraná is presented. The results showed that the pandemic generated a reduction in family income in the order of 63.4%. The fear for the future generated psychological implications, with conditions such as fear, tension and distrust having been registered, but there was no evolution to depressive conditions. The new technologies and social networks, presented themselves as the main ways to reach the distant consumer, the new generations assumed a commercial role in sales, and these measures were identified as the main action to confront the pandemic. It is urgent that rural producers think about strengthening the class that can confer greater bargaining power, and that they make themselves visible, a situation not yet perceived by the public authorities in this pandemic period caused by the new coronavirus.
