Abstract

This study aimed to evaluate in vitro effect of homeopathic Arsenicum album 24 CH; Calcarea carbonica 30 CH,Kali iodatum 100 CH; Phosphorus 3 CH; Silicea 30 CH; Staphysagria 6, 30 and 100 CH; Spodoptera frugiperda 30 CH; Sulphur 100 and 200 CH and Thuya occidentalis 200 CH on biological parameters of the fungus Beauveria bassiana. The homeopathic solution in sterile distilled water (0.1%) was sprayed over the previously inoculated fungus on PDA culture medium. Germination, colony forming units (CFU), vegetative growth, conidial production and insecticidal activity of the fungus against Diatraea saccharalis (Lepidoptera: Crambidae) larvae were evaluated. Phosphorus 3 CH; Silicea 30 CH, Staphysagria 30 CH; Spodoptera frugiperda 30 CH and Thuya occidentalis 200 CH significantly reduced conidial germination. All treatments promoted a significant increase in CFU, except Arsenicum album 24CH. Thuya occidentalis 200 CH affected the insecticidal activity of the fungus although all homeopathic preparations were classified as compatible.
