Productive systems of medicinal plants, aromatic and spice in the folowing communities: São Francisco, Careiro da Várzea and Santa Luzia do Baixio in Iranduba Amazon

Abstract

Among the productive areas managed by farmers in the communities of San Francisco, the city of Careiro da Várzea and Santa Luzia in Iranduba, Amazon, are the homegardens in this species are associated with forest plants and creation of multiple use animals near residence. The diversity of products from this system ensures family subsistence, contributes to income, in addition to functioning as true genebanks on farm. Among the multiple use plants grown in homegardens are the character medicinal, aromatic and spice, which are used in the preparation of food or medicine to cure diseases. Therefore, this study aimed to characterize the productive systems of medicinal plants, aromatic and spice in different seasonal periods ranging from December to April (flood), from May to July (full), August to September (ebb) and October to November (dry). The methods and techniques used were qualiquantitatives, semi-structured form, participant observation, georeferencing and photographic records.
