From traditional knowledge to agroecology: a case study of agricultural practices of the community vazanteira Island Jenipapo, Itacarambi-MG

This study aimed to analyze and characterize the agricultural practices of vazanteiros of Jenipapo Island well as their inter-relations withagroambientes, Sãofranciscanos. The research was supported in research techniques combined: left the review, on-site visits with participant observation, focus interviews and content analysis. The results showed that agriculture vazanteira of Jenipapo Island was marked by three phases throughout its historic building, originally was traditional sustainable, the 2nd phase was influenced by the Green Revolution with practices typically conventional, and currently has a phase marked by a transition agroecology.
