Abstract

The article analyzes the strategies of 03 cooperative networks of milk production (Aurora, Terra Viva and Ascooper), located in the West territory of Santa Catarina, verifying their approach to agroecological principles and practices. The study included the analysis of documents and interviews witht heir main leaders. Family farming is on the organisational basis of the 03 networks and pasture, adopted as the main form of feeding, represents a colective innovation in the territory, that occurred in a diffuse way, without the leadership of a specific social actor. Terra Viva and Ascooper went further by using fitotherapy and homeopathy to treat animals, thus emphasizing the implementation of agroecological systems. Ascooper is a step forward, working with localized productive systems and agro-industrial plants designed for organic dairy products.
