Harvesting, storage and seed quality grown in gardens of Bairro da Serra–Iporanga/SP

This Search verified harvesting techniques and storage local varieties grown in the gardens of the farmers at Bairro da Serra–Iporanga/SP. Identifying the influence of these techniques in seed quality. The basic methodology was known to the farmer, through semi-structured and open. For seeds collected were tested for germination, water content and thousand seed mass. The data obtained were analyzed through descriptive reports and descriptive analysis. Farmers have studied in-depth knowledge of plant species that grow in gardens, yet there are elements that characterize the systemof the peasantry. Can maintain the quality of the seeds according to their interests, because the objective is the maintenance of family and conservation of genetic resources of ethnovarieties.
