City and Human Rights. Circuit of memories of social struggles in Recife, Brazil

This paper aims to present some reflections based on interdisciplinary research developed within the scope of the partnership between the Federal Rural University of Pernambuco and the City Hall of Recife, whose objective has been to identify places of memories, affections, and mobilization for Human Rights in this city, intending to build a pedagogical itinerary so that children, young people, and adults can (re)discover the territories of the struggle for Human Rights. The results of the first stage of the project are presented below, which consisted of surveying the territories that represent the affections and memories of the struggles for rights, especially those based on the fight against racism, gender violence, religious intolerance, violence against children and adolescents and the struggles against the civil-military dictatorship. Based on this survey, this itinerary was developed, and it's been called “Circuit and Memories of Human Rights in Recife”.
