Plagiarism Check Practice
Patryter adopts plagiarism verification practice in accordance with the instructions of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). Articles submitted to the journal will be forwarded to the reviewer, who will analyze the work by the anti-plagiarism detect software "iThenticat" and those articles that exceed 15% similarity with some existing academic material will undergo an analysis process for the verification of occurrence or not of plagiarism.
Will be considered for the analysis of suspected plagiarism, according to instructions from COPE:
-
the profile of the author suspected of plagiarism (if a new or experienced academic researcher) for initial verification of malicious intent or not of plagiarism;
-
extension of plagiarism (partial or integral copy) and plagiarized material (phrases and excerpts, disseminated or concentrated in a specific section: methodology, final considerations, etc.).
Having verified the plagiarism by the reviewer, the author of the work submitted will be informed of the occurrence by the journal and asked to provide clarification. After clarifications from the author suspected of plagiarism, according to COPE recommendations, the following measures will be taken.
-
In case of non-response by any of the authors of the journal, within 3 weeks, the authors of the work that has been plagiarized will be notified of the occurrence to take the measures that they consider appropriate.
-
In case of unsatisfactory explanation or admission of plagiarism, a message will be sent to the author rejecting the submission, explaining the journal's positioning and the expectation regarding the authors' future behaviour. The victim of plagiarism will be informed of all the information raised about the plagiarism of his work. Finally, the reviewer who detected the plagiarism situation will also be notified of the decision of the Editorial Board of Patryter magazine, as well as the outcome of this decision.
-
In case of an answer with satisfactory explanation (error or inexperience of the author), a rejection message of the article or request for revision will be sent, explaining the position of the journal and instructions on expectations for future behaviour. The reviewer who detected the plagiarism situation will also be notified of the decision of the Patryter Magazine Editorial Board, as well as the outcome of this decision.
