Heritage is a fundamental tool for the historical reconstruction of territories, hence the importance of understanding, valuing, protecting and preserving it. Therefore, the objective of this article is to revalue the theoretical and methodological contributions of Historical Geography for the analysis of the history of the territory through local heritage. From a geohistorical approach and by means of geographical time reconstruction techniques, the spatial rugosities in a sector of the town of General Daniel Cerri, Bahía Blanca district (province of Buenos Aires, Argentina) are analyzed, particularly the case of the former Frigorífico Sansinena CAP Cuatreros. As a result of the research, it is possible to observe that the heritage legacy represented by the meat packing plant has been a key element in the shaping of local identity with the potential to integrate the list of heritage assets at local, provincial and national level.
