Este artigo aborda o gênero autobiográfico em quadrinhos e as possibilidades de representação em relação à deficiência, algo ao qual venho me referindo como “graphic body memoirs”, ou “quadrinhos autobiográficos corpo(rificados)”, em uma tradução livre. As idiossincrasias das histórias em quadrinhos justificam a necessidade por uma estrutura teórica mais específica em termos de autobiografias em quadrinhos e deficiência. Para ilustrar as possibilidades desse conceito, utilizo a obra Bitter Medicine: A Graphic Memoir of Mental Illness, dos irmãos Clem e Olivier Martini, publicada em 2010.
