The purpose of this translation is to bring to the Brazilian public a small but representative portion of the work of this writer so well known in France for her subversive and engaging literature. Virginie Despentes is a name that the contemporary reader of French literature cannot pass on, such it is her importance. Despentes enjoys transitioning between oral and written, between correct and subversive. Her literature reflects this clash that she represents, sometimes tearing the French language. This translation aims, therefore, to try to transport this clash, this combination and this tearing of the original into the Portuguese language, also using orality and colloquiality without escaping the controversy.
