A análise de domínio como perspectiva teórico-metodológica uma análise dos aspectos teóricos na literatura internacional na organização do conhecimento:

A análise de domínio (AD) permite identificar e analisar o conhecimento significativo em um campo de conhecimento (tendências, padrões, processos, agentes e suas relações), constituindo importante fonte metodológica para Organização do Conhecimento (OC) no campo da Ciência da Informação. Isso pressupõe interpretação, que só pode ser aplicada e compreendida num determinado contexto, porque os domínios possuem uma sistemática própria para a criação e estruturação de novos conhecimentos, teorias e metodologias. Com o Objetivo de analisar a literatura internacional produzida em língua inglesa sobre questões teóricas da AD no contexto da OC, vale-se da Metodologia da análise de conteúdo para categorizá-la e sistematizá-la de modo a representar uma perspectiva teórico-metodológica para a área. Os Resultados evidenciaram aspectos relativos a: Origens, Definição, Natureza, Objeto, Importância/Contribuições/Efeitos, Abordagens, Paradigmas, Parâmetros/ Eixos, Etapas/ Fontes/ Dimensões, Posturas Epistêmicas, Caráter Interdisciplinar, e Teorias/Disciplinas de Apoio, o que levou à Conclusão de que a AD ocupa posição central na OC fornecendo-lhe um arcabouço teórico-metodológico para o desenvolvimento de processos, a construção e aplicação de instrumentos e a geração de produtos a partir de uma perspectiva sociocultural, no tempo e no espaço e, na atualidade, com o desafio do conhecimento multi, inter e transdisciplinar, o que lhe demandará algumas reformulações teóricas.
