Abstract

Abstract: The photographic document and memory are found in the Information Science area, mainly in the social, cultural, historical and legal evidence context. They are gaining more and more space in the virtual world, in addition to being present in all layers of society. This study intends to raise indicators of how the themes: photographic document and memory are articulated to discussions on military dictatorship in the annals of the National Meeting of Research in Information Science and in the postgraduate programs in IC of the Brazilian Digital Library of Theses and Dissertations in 2019. Objective: From data recovery, quantify the themes of the productions, pointing out which ones address the social context, and what contribution to the area. Methodology: exploratory research – descriptive based on a quantitative approach, with a bibliographic research procedure based on a survey in databases. Results: to instigate reflections on the social role of photography during the military dictatorship period. Conclusion: understand a little more about the theme of photography in the construction of social memory, acquire subsidies and indicators for new productions, expanding investigations on the subject in the field of Information Science.

Doctor in Social History by the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ). Associate Professor of History of Brazil at the Federal University of Espírito Santo (UFES), currently linked to the Department of History. Since 2010 he has been a full professor of the Postgraduate Program in History (PPGHIS-UFES). As of 2018, he is also a permanent professor in the Graduate Program in Information Science (PPGCI / UFES). From April 2021 he is Coordinator of the course of the College of History of the UFES. He was deputy coordinator, between 2016 and 2018, of PPGHIS / Ufes. Between 2013 and 2016 coordinated the Commission of the Truth of the UFES. I was part of the Comisión de Altos Estudios del Proyecto Memorias Reveladas - Reference Center for Political Luchas in Brazil (1964-1985). Integrates the Red de Investigación Derecho, Historia y Memoria. Among its publications, the book AMNESTY stands out: from the movements of women in the military dictatorship to recent disputes over the past (Editora Milfontes, 2019). It has experience in the field of history, with emphasis on the history of the Republic of Brazil, acting on the following themes: Dictatorships and authoritarian regimes, history of actuality, memory, rights and history of the archives of repression.
