Interview with the experienced Mozambican choreographer from Maputo, Idio Chichava. In the conversation, Chichava presents his trajectory, his research interests, and the origins of his search for energy as a principle of movement, in addition to the intrinsic relationship between voice and movement based on the cultural and traditional experience of the diverse cultural expressions of traditional song and dance in his country. Having trained as a traditional dancer, the choreographer also indicates his paths through improvisational dance and French experimental dance and how he has sought to expand his fields of research by creating projects in partnership with dance artists from different African, European, and Latin American countries.
