Résumé

The article presents the results of research on the commercialisation channels of tucumã, a product of extractivism which expresses an aspect of the food culture of the Amazonians. The research was carried out in three communities (São Francisco do Mainã, Jatuarana and Novo Progresso) located on the left bank of the Amazon and with farmers from the Puraquequara region, Manaus - AM. The research had a quantitative and qualitative bias. In all, 30 farmers who extract tucumã were interviewed. The research showed the tucumã commercialisation dynamics, quantifying and shedding light on the commercialisation channels and the relationships established in the commercialisation and shows the weaknesses of the actors involved, especially the extractive farmers. The information can help in the elaboration of actions to support the actors involved in the activity.

Lindomar de Jesus de Sousa Silva, PhD in Sustainable Development of the Humid Tropics, Brazilian Agricultural Research Corporation - Embrapa Amazônia Ocidental Manaus, AM, Brazil

He has a degree in Social Sciences, with an emphasis on Political Science (2003), and a master's degree in Development Planning (2007), both from the Federal University of Pará (UFPA). He has a PhD in Sustainable Development of the Humid Tropics (2014), also from UFPA. He currently works as a researcher at the Brazilian Agricultural Research Corporation (EMBRAPA). He has carried out research into the economic, social, political, cultural and spatial implications of major projects, the conversion of natural resources into commodities, and the impact of public and government policies on communities, with special attention to the western and eastern Brazilian Amazon. In his scientific production, he uses an interdisciplinary approach to complement theoretical approaches linked to sociology, political economy, anthropology, geography and history.

Sergio Schneider, PhD in Sociology, Professor, Programas de Pós-Graduação em Desenvolvimento Rural, Programa de Pós-Graduação em Sociologia, UFRGS, Porto Alegre, RS, Brazil

: Full Professor in the Department of Sociology and permanent member of the Graduate Programs in Rural Development (www.ufrgs.br/pgdr) and Sociology (www.ufrgs.br/ppgs) at UFRGS. He did postdoctoral studies: in 2023 at the Montpellier Advanced Knowledge Institute on Transitions (MAKIT), COHORT program, with Patrick Caron; in 2015-16 at the City University of London with Prof. Tim Lang; in 2007-08 at the Institute of City and Regional Planning, at Cardiff University/Wales/UK, with Terry Marsden. She completed her PhD in Sociology (UFRGS/Université Paris X) in 1999, her MA in Sociology (UNICAMP) in 1994 and her undergraduate degree in Social Sciences (UFRGS) in 1990. He has been a CNPq Research Fellow since 2003. Current Vice President of IRSA (International Rural Sociology Association). Since 2019 he has been a visiting professor at COHD-CAU, China. He coordinates the GEPAD research group, accredited by CNPq. He teaches sociology of rurality, development and rural development policies at the undergraduate level and theories of development, family farming and sociology of food at the postgraduate level. Researches in the areas of sociology of food and development, focusing on food markets, food systems, climate change, crisis and multi-level transitions, the SDG agenda, family farming, territorial dynamics and public policies.

Alessandro Carvalho dos Santos, Graduated in Economics, Researcher, Brazilian Agricultural Research Corporation - Embrapa Amazônia OcidentalManaus, AM, Brazil

He has a degree in Economics from the Federal University of Amazonas (UFAM). He has carried out research into economic and social implications, with an emphasis on issues related to the Amazon context: Pisciculture, Biocosmetics, Family Farming, Rural Development and Ornamental Fishing.

Gilmar Antonio Meneghetti, Master’s Degree in Social Sciences in Development, Agriculture and Society, Brazilian Agricultural Research Corporation - Embrapa Amazônia Ocidental, Manaus, AM, Brazil

He has a degree in Agronomy from the University of Passo Fundo (1985), a master's degree in Social Sciences in Development, Agriculture and Society from the Federal Rural University of Rio de Janeiro (2000), a specialization in Animal Production - Ruminants "Lato Sensu" from the University of Passo Fundo (1995), and a specialization in Administration and Rural Development from the University of Ijuí (1997). He was a senior rural extension worker at the Associação Sulina de Crédito e Assistência Rural. She has experience in agronomy, animal husbandry and the processing of agricultural products, program coordination and management, as well as experience in human resources management, planning and drafting rural development projects. From 2007 to 2011, she coordinated the Dairy Cattle Programs and the Small Family Agroindustries Program in the municipalities that make up the Passo Fundo Regional Office of Emater/RS.

José Olenilson Costa Pinheiro, Master's Degree in Family Farming and Sustainable Development (UFPA) Brazilian Agricultural Research Corporation - Embrapa Amazônia Oriental Belém, PA, Brazil

He has a degree in ECONOMIC SCIENCES from the University of Amazonia (1991), a specialization in Business and Production Management from the University of Amazonia (2000) and a Master's degree in Family Farming and Sustainable Development from the Federal University of Pará (2008). He is currently a researcher at EMBRAPA AMAZÔNIA ORIENTAL / CPATU, linked to the Technology Prospecting and Assessment Sector - SPAT. He has experience in the field of Economics, with an emphasis on Rural Economics, working mainly on the following topics: local development and family agricultural planning.
