Durante a sua campanha para a presidência dos Estados Unidos, Donald Trump foi claro em relação ao seu propósito de desembarcar do Acordo de Paris sobre Mudanças Climáticas. É nesse contexto, reforçado por ameaça de redução nas verbas destinadas à pesquisa científica, que entra em cena um movimento voltado para a valorização da Ciência, defendendo-se o uso de evidências científicas no processo de tomada de decisão em todos os níveis de governo: a marcha pela ciência, convocada para o dia 22 de abril, quando o número anterior da revista Sustentabilidade em Debate já estava em fase de finalização.
