Determination of gravitational acceleration in a horizontal launch experiment using the noise detection of smartphone

Abstract

The smartphones are potentially pedagogical tools and provide technological resources that assist in experimentation from the detection stage to the presentation of data. Considering that such devices are increasingly present in classrooms, this article proposes a simple way to determine the gravitational acceleration g in a horizontal launch using the noise detection of smartphones. The experimental results of quantitative and exploratory nature, obtained with a relative error under 2%, are presented and compared with the local value of g.
