Abstract

Two experiments with elementary school children
investigated the variability found in extinction using a choice procedure.
Variability was analyzed based on response cost, schedule of
reinforcement, and number of sessions in operant strengthening.
Extinction and operant strengthening were analyzed as part of the same
process. It is suggested that the variables of past history which
influenced the response should be identified.
