: This article is the result of a research project carried out in the disciplines of Social Research 1 and 2, in the graduation of Social Work of the University of Brasília. It seeks to analyze the genocide of black youth in the municipality of Luziânia - State of Goiás, located near the Federal District, as well as the socio-historical, political and economic determinants that lead the black youth to extermination in this municipality. To investigate how the racial issue influences the percentage of the young black population to be the target of the highest homicide rates, and to understand the intense process of pauperization and social inequality surrounding the DF, considering the specificities of the region. The research that originated this article was carried out based on secondary sources, where the official documents analyzed have as temporal frame the years of 2012 and 2013. Through the analysis of the data, it was possible to verify an omission of the State from the abolition of the slavery until the present day in front of the demands of the black people, resulting in their constant exposure to situations of violence, which prevents the black population from fully exercising their citizenship. It is essential, therefore, that the question of race be central to the elaboration of public policies to combat violence.
