Abstract

This study aimed to evaluate grazing Brachiaria decumbens the positive effect of the inclusion of soil organic matter as the production of forage structure and carbon sequestration in the soil. The treatments were: sheep manure, vegetation cover, organic compost + sheep manure and control treatment. Measurements were taken of soil organic carbon, chemical analysis and evaluation of the canopy structure. The design was a Complete Randomized Design in factorial arrangement 2x4 (four treatments, two periods) and 3x4 (four treatments, three periods) for canopy structure and soil carbon, respectively. There was a linear increase (P <0.05, R2 0.97) the concentration of organic C in the soil throughout the experimental period. It was concluded that the inclusion of organic matter within an agroecological of the pasture management positively affected the characteristics of the forage canopy, and soil.
