The objective of this work was to evaluate the effect of homeopathic preparation of mugwort, Artemisia vulgarisL., on the thrips incidence and the yield of onion crop. The experimental design was randomized completed blocks with four replications. The plots were composed by 200 plants with spacing of 10 cm between plants and 40 cm in rows. Transplanting was in 08/26/2008 and the harvest in the 12/12/2008. The treatments were homeopathic preparations of mugwort at 6CH, 12CH and30CH (centesimal hahnemannian dilution) and untreated plot. A. vulgaris reduced the insect infestation at 6 and 30CH potencies by non linear effect. The yield was not affected by the homeopathic preparation of A. vulgaris. The thrips incidence and the yield did not correlate each other and did not reduce losses in the postharvest.
