The organic agriculture has been receiving more visibility in the last years. However, the organic products from family farms face problems with trading. Therefore, the aim of this study is to characterize and analyse the organic products trading in Pelotas/RS municipality. The methodology included the main trading types and space identification, supply analysis with price research of available products and interviews with the farmers and agents directly involved in the process. It was found that the prices of products from the conventional market do not present big differences compared to those from the eco market. The farmers have difficulty in keeping a stable production and it is mainly destined to the retail market, direct sales to consumers and especially to the institutional market. It is concluded that, despite the challenges still to be overcome, the organic production has possibilities to expand in the municipality.
