Scientific and Educational Agroecological-based Cooperation: perspectives and proposals for IFAM

Abstract

This study aims to reflect about scientific-educational cooperation based on Agroecology, involving the Federal Institute, Science and Technology of Amazonas (IFAM), located in the Brazilian Amazon, whose challenges are a singularity, since, with its units, they are present in all the meso-regions of the State of Amazonas. Thus, this complex Amazonian environment is imposed as a central element for the educational actions of this institution, whose scenario is framed by diverse geographical characteristics and potential of this basin, with its 4 million Km2, whose diversity there is knowledge, involving: researchers, family farmers, extension agents, indigenous people, kilombolas, riverside residents, students, agro- (re) collectors, community leaders, teachers, social movements and members of organized civil society. Thus, the educational challenge assumes a great magnitude, for which scientific-educational cooperation based on Agroecology could play a fundamental role in confronting this relevant issue. The path traveled in this elaboration was weighed down by specialized literature on thesubject. The situation studied Agroecology projects as the field of knowledge capable of contributing to face this issue, a context in which a possible development and cooperation scenario is presented for IFAM.
