Abstract

This paper aims to discuss the use of participatory methods in agroecological practices developed by the project "Social and environmental capacitation for the building of sustainable development projects in rural settlements in the state of Sao Paulo" in two settlements of the land reform project, the Sepé Tiarajú, which presents a proposal for sustainable development since its formation and another, the Pirituba, one of the first settlements in the state, with its production system is based in the conventional production process, we propose here to discuss progress and challenges regarding the methodological strategies used by the project for agroecological knowledge construction in these localities.
