In this interview, Teun van Dijk comments on what motivated the creation of the Latin American Association for Discourse Studies (ALED), which celebrates its 30th anniversary in 2025; describes the main characteristics of the discourse produced by far-right political groups, especially those marked by populism and strong ideological polarization; and presents updates to his theories on ideology and sociocognition. The interview was conducted by Gisele Azevedo Rodrigues on July 24th, 2025, in Barcelona, Spain.
