Publication of the dossier "Judiciary and land conflicts in the countryside and city" (v. 11, n. 1, 2025)
It is with great satisfaction that the InSURgência: revista de direitos e movimentos sociais [InSURgência: journal of rights and social movements] publishes the dossier "Judicial power and land conflicts in the countryside and in the city"; organized by Mariana Trotta Dallalana Quintans, Erika Macedo Moreira and Hugo Belarmino de Morais, and with the unprecedented collaboration of the university projects Núcleo de Assessoria Jurídica Universitária Popular (NAJUP) Luiza Mahin of the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ), with the Interdisciplinar Observatory and Advisory in Territorial Conflicts (OBUNTU) of the Federal University of Paraíba (UFPB) and with the Goiano Fundiário Observatory (OFUNGO) of the Federal University of Goiás (UFG).
The edition, referring to the semester of January and June 2025, with a new publication periodicity in March (and September for the period of July/December), can be consulted on the InSURgência website, and is also available in full in a single file.
In addition to 21 unpublished articles selected by the Organizing Committee, the edition also brings together interviews with Diego Vedovatto, MST militant, and Maria de Lourdes Alves, MLB militant, as well as entries, poetic expressions, reviews and historical documents related to territorial issues, their conflicts, tensions, the role of the Judiciary, the actors fighting for the fulfillment of agrarian reform and housing policy, such as the movement without land, quilombolas and indigenous peoples etc.; on the other hand, the counterattack of latifundia and agribusiness. We also publish in this edition important historical documents in the section Praxis of Liberation with the aim of socializing documents, legal arguments and procedural tactics that can contribute to popular lawyers, as well as the social movements of the various regions of the country that fight for the right to land, housing, against criminalization and violation of human rights.
