Abstract

When studying idioms, we are faced with a series of questions that need to be answered in order to have precise definitions about their nature, formation and uses. Stylistics proves to be one of the branches of Linguistics that offers the most contributions to phraseological studies and the identification of the peculiarities and uses of language. It is interesting to observe how the process of transmitting stylistic effects takes place, the role of the immediate linguistic context in this process and the syntactic changes that idioms undergo.
