Abstract

O texto propõe uma discussão sobre a crise da borracha na Amazônia no início do século XX, defendendo a tese de que houve nesse processo uma conjunção de fatores internos e externos que levaram muitas empresas seringalistas ao processo de falência. Procurando debater com a historiografia especializada, o texto elege como fontes os processos judiciais de algumas empresas seringalistas que atuavam na cadeia de aviamento no Pará e, principalmente, no Acre.

Daniel da Silva Klein, Docente de História da Universidade Federal do Acre (UFAC)

Daniel da Silva Klein possui graduação em História (2006) e mestrado em Letras (2010), ambos pela Universidade Federal do Acre (UFAC), onde também é professor da cadeira de Estudos em História. Fez o doutorado em História Social (2013) pela Universidade de São Paulo.
