Abstract

A tradução da oralidade na peça Catharsis, de Gustave Akakpo A peça Catharsis, de Gustave Akakpo, guia-nos pela África através de uma linguagem que combina violência, humor e poesia. A personagem principal, uma rainha decaída em meio a um reino de destruição, grita suas dores. O presente artigo visa analisar o texto de Akakpo e refletir sobre as estratégias de sua tradução para o português com base nos conceitos de oralidade e significância desenvolvidos por Henry Meschonnic. The translation of orality in the theater play Catharsis, by Gustave Akakpo The play Catharsis, by Gustave Akakpo, guides us throughout Africa using a language that mixes violence, humor and poetry. The main character, a decayed queen of a destroyed kingdom, cries for her pains. This paper aims at analyzing Akakpo’s text and reflecting about the strategies used in its translation to Portuguese grounded on the concepts of orality and significance developed by Henry Meschonnic.
