Abstract

The review analyzes the research titled “The Social Trajectory of Children and Adolescents in Situations of Sexual Exploitation at the Bus Station in the Setor Comercial Sul of Brasília,” which critically reflects on the occurrence of sexual exploitation affecting these individuals. The study investigated the individual life histories of these subjects, who are made vulnerable by structural complexities, and highlighted the violations of rights experienced by a segment that should be under the protection of the State. Structured into a preface, introduction, analytical chapters, and conclusion, the work articulates the methodology of Action Research and Social Intervention, combining investigation with ethical-political commitment. It problematizes the formulation of public policies and argues that children and adolescents must be recognized as rights-bearing subjects rather than passive objects of intervention. The analysis reveals the limitations of public policies in promoting emancipation, especially when the subjects themselves are excluded from decision-making processes, thereby perpetuating subordinate conditions.
