Redes insurgentes: como o movimento Black Lives Matter ajudou a reorganizar o sindicalismo estadunidense?

A atual onda de agitação trabalhista nos Estados Unidos, evidenciada
tanto pela criação de novos sindicatos em setores tradicionalmente
desorganizados, quanto pelo aumento do apetite grevista dos trabalhadores sindicalizados, foi seguida por um súbito aumento dos protestos em defesa das vidas negras, em escala global, em decorrência do assassinato, no dia 25 de maio de 2020, de George Floyd pela política de Minneapolis. Embora a literatura que tem analisado a globalização do movimento Black Lives Matter tenha negligenciado a relação entre a luta antirracista e a revitalização dos sindicatos, existem muitos indícios capazes de revelar a referida intersecção. Neste artigo, pretendemos analisar um caso específico que aponta para uma íntima conexão entre a luta pela justiça racial e a luta pela justiça econômica: a criação do Amazon Labor Union (ALU), o primeiro sindicato da empresa Amazon do país.
