O “Ser” e o “Estar” arquivista no Brasil de hoje: regulamentação e trabalho

O ensaio visa abordar a inserção do arquivista no mercado de trabalho, a regulamentação da profissão, e o associativismo. Para tanto faz-se uma distinção entre o exercício de atividades profissionais de caráter arquivístico e o direito legal ao exercício profissional. O ponto de partida é a comparação de diferentes definições conceituais do termo arquivista, as quais são pautadas em função da legalidade, ou não, do exercício profissional, mediante a posse de diploma de graduação em Arquivologia. Analisam-se possibilidades para a atividade profissional do arquivista quanto aos arquivos pessoais, e quanto aos arquivos de empresas e organizações. Os resultados apresentam números incrivelmente superiores a uma estimativa da quantidade de arquivistas formados em Arquivologia existentes e indicam uma demanda incapaz de ser atendida, mesmo se considerados os profissionais não portadores de diploma específico. Advoga-se a confecção de um amplo diagnóstico, capaz de instrumentalizar um planejamento estratégico com vistas a equilibrar os contrastes profissionais e melhor atender as demandas da sociedade.
