This is an interview conducted in Portuguese language with Spanish theater professional trained in Music/Singing, Cristina Dominguez Dapena, by Juliana Faustino during an undergraduate exchange at the School of Communication and Arts at Eduardo Mondlane University (UEM), in Maputo, Mozambique. The interviewee shares her perception of the relationship between body, voice, and emotion in theater, exploring concepts such as organicity and verticality. She also highlights breathing as a central element of her methodology, focusing on acknowledging the diaphragm and different abdominal muscles to support the voice. The interview was conducted in order to collect data for the research project named as Somatic Perspectives of Voice in Dance, developed with support from the Institutional Scientific Initiation Scholarship Program - PIBIC/FAP/DF (2023-2024), under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Diego Pizarro.
