Abstract

In an interview with Algerie Culture, the Algerian economist and thinker living in Canada, Professor Omar Aktouf, explains the basis of the health crisis the world is currently going through and argues that neo-liberal maximalism is blatantly responsible for the emergence of the coronavirus. In stating that Marx will bury Friedman, Professor Aktouf calls for a worldwide awareness of the now even more obvious risks that neoliberalism imposes on planet Earth, insisting on the search for infinite profits in a finite and exhausting environment.
