The Marcha das Margaridas is a mobilization of rural women which has been celebrated in Brazil since 2000 and has incorporated the Agroecology agenda through a reflection on its conceptual development both in Brazil and the world. The concept went from a more theoretical and technical one to being more systemic, being characterized as a science, a movement and a practice which incorporates new themes by converging and sharing knowledge. Dialogue with the feminist movement strengthened while the Brazilian agroecological movement was being organized, and the motto “Without feminism there is no Agroecology” gained strength and centrality. This paper analyzes the historical contribution of women in this theme, as their struggles were fundamental to the construction and reframing of Agroecology. Through theoretical and documentary analysis, as well as interviews, we concluded that each edition of the March led to conceptual changes which were supported by the visibility of the economic and political contribution of rural women and their struggle against patriarchy.
