Abstract

The present text discusses the complexity of the agrarian question, arising from the advance of capital over agriculture, in which there were major changes, especially regarding the control and ownership of the means of production. Among these changes, two ways of practicing agriculture are identified: the peasant way and the entrepreneurial way. These are different practices that take place in disputes over natural and human resources and occupy the territory with completely different views. The analyses of seminal and contemporary authors contribute to broaden and deepen understanding regarding the several situations involving the capital and the peasantry into a class struggle context. The agrarian question needs to moveforward with research to verify how the capitalc ontinues to develop in agriculture and also to identify thefunction and importance of peasantry and its own way of practicing agriculture.
