Abstract

This essay aims to address the challenges faced by Agroecology to consolidated itself as a scientific field, considering that researchers involved in the matter of Agroecology, require to it the status of a Science, at the same time that its epistemological basis questions the current paradigms in the scientific field. Here one argues that Agroecology also belongs to the scientific field, while not denying that it may belong to other fields. By this point refers to the functioning of scientific fields in searching for elements that helps the Agroecology to overcome the criticism, marginalization and prejudices of a new science that wants to establish their new paradigms.
