Gastrintestinal parasites cause high prejudice in sheep breeding by causing: reduction in the production of meet, milk and wool, anemia, diarrhea, anorexia and sudden death. The most commonly treatment is the administration of chemicals products. This fact encourages the emergence of resistant parasites through the selection of chemical resistant endoparasites. In thiscontext, herbal medicine is a medical treatment modality that has increased researches in recent years. The aim of this work was to evaluate the effect of garlic juice (Allium sativum) in helminthes infection. For this experiment, 18 sheeps were separated in three treatments. The animals of Treatment I and II received, respectively, 15g and 30g of garlic juice during three consecutive days, and the Treatment III was considered the control group. Fecal samples were collected day 0, 1, 2, 7 and 13, and tested by eggs per gram (EPG) and coproculture. During all the experiment there were no meaningful reduction of the medium EPG and no meaningful change of the parasite ́s tipes in the coproculture. No side effect was observed in the group of animals that received the garlic. In this experiment, the garlic juice was not effective in the reduction of parasite infection in sheepin vivo.
