Abstract

The study aimed to evaluate the behavior of melon seedlings depending on the type of substrate and tray for aquaculture effluent irrigation. We used a factorial 3 x 2 x 2 in a randomized design with four replications. The treatments consisted of combinations of substrate types (compost, washed sand and Plantmax ®), polystyrene tray sizes (128 and 200 cells) and sources of irrigation water (effluent from fish farming and water well). The ® substrate was higher than the other, for the traits dry matter production of shoots and percentage of germination. The type of tray is not influenced in any trait. The seedlings were irrigated with aquaculture effluent had the highest number of leaves and taproot longer.
