The objective of this study was to investigate the efficience of jurubeba (Solanum fastigiatum var. acicularium) extracts in the cabbage-aphid (Brevicoryne brassicae) control in field cabbage crops (Brassicae olereaceae var. acephala) experiments. In order to obtain the extracts, the fresh material infusion technique was used, and the extracts were sprayed on the crops after cooling. The random blocks experimental design was utilized, with 10 replicates. Each parcel consisted in a culture line with 20 plants, and the evaluation was conducted every 10 days counting the number of insects alive. The results indicated a significant difference (P < 0,0001) between the number of aphids observed in the control plants and those that received the treatment with extracts, showing the efficience of the plant extracts (S.fastigiatum var. acicularium) in the cabbage-aphid control.
