The work was developed in the Planalto Catarinense Region (Santa Catarina, Brazil), where interviews were made with Crioula Lageana breeders and farmers that work with other breeds of cattle. Farm Hotel (Countryside Inns) owners and tourist were also submitted to interviews. It was used the method of collective discourse (opened questions) for all the groups, except for the tourist, to whom a structured questionnaire (closed questions) was applied. It was concluded that the main goals for the Crioula Lageana breeders are: the development of specific markets for the breed products e the multiplication of the superior genetic material. In relation to the other breeders it was identified a good knowledge about the history of Crioula Lageana in the region, but some disbelief about in the breed itself. On the rural tourism, there is excellent acceptance and expectation among Farm Hotel owners and tourists inexploring the breed in this activity.
