Abstract

The food system is in crisis, showing sustainability problems. This model coexists with alternative forms of food production, distribution, and consumption. This article aims to analyze how the health emergency affected the short channels for the commercialization of fruits and vegetables, reflecting on a solidarity intermediation undertaking that offers agro-ecological bags in the County of General Pueyrredon (Buenos Aires, Argentina). To do this, semi-structured interviews were conducted with those responsible for the venture, business premises and consumer nodes to understand the network established and the impact of the pandemic from different dimensions. The results show an increase in the local demand for food directly from producers and particularly agroecological ones, a situation that coexists with the closing of fairs, interruptions in circulation and the use of digital media.
